MODERN TOOLS FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF COMPLEX BIOACTIVE MOLECULES

par corneille - publié le

Three teams from the Pôle Chimie Balard in Montpellier, France have participated in the writing of the book entitled « Modern tools for the synthesis of complex bioactive molecules » and edited by Janine Cossy et Stellios Arseniyadis (UMR 7084 CNRS ESPCI ParisTech) (Editions Wiley). The first chapter was written by team members from the Green Chemistry and Enabling Technology team from the IBMM (Evelina Colacino, Jean Martinez, and Frédéric Lamaty) and is presenting the Negishi cross-coupling reaction for the synthesis of natural products and bioactive molecules, including some applications in the industry. For the same purpose, members from the team Architectures Moléculaires et Matériaux Nanostructurés from the ICG (Renata Marcia de Figueiredo and Jean-Marc Campagne) along with Damien Prim (Institut Lavoisier de Versailles) have summarized the metal-catalyzed C-heteroatom cross-coupling reactions. Benoît Liégault, now in the same team, has participated in the writing of the chapter on C-H functionalization. The last chapter, by Michaël Smietana and Jean-Jacques Vasseur from the team Modified Oligonucleotides from the IBMM, together with Janine Cossy et Stellios Arseniyadis, is presenting the applications of DNA as a tool for molecular discovery.
