Biography
After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Ecology of Organisms and a University Diploma (DU) in Oleology from the University of Montpellier, Yeelen began her studies in chemistry at the IUT of Montpellier-Sète (Sète campus). During her second year, she completed an internship at the Centre for Functional and Evolutionary Ecology (C.E.F.E.) in Montpellier under the supervision of Dr. Pierre-Olivier Cheptou. Her research focused on the impact of epigenetics, specifically cytosine methylation, on the invasive character of the tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima). For her third year of the Bachelor of University Technology (BUT) program, she joined the Green Chemistry and Enabling Technologies team to work on the mechanochemical synthesis of pharmaceutical ingredients, optimized using artificial intelligence.
