Biography
Penthip MUANGKAEW obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry in Thailand, followed by a PhD in the same field. Her doctoral research focused on the development of furan-modified PNAs capable of crosslinking DNA targets in an antisense approach. Penthip completed her first research internship at Nagoya University (Japan), studying DNA duplex invasion using modified PNA probes. She later carried out a second internship at Ghent University (Belgium), where she expanded the scope of furan activation using red light in combination with a photosensitizer. After completing the PhD, Penthip joined Ghent University (Belgium) as a postdoctoral researcher, where she investigated cyclic lipodepsipeptides using NMR to understand their structure and mode of action. Penthip is currently a postdoctoral researcher at IBMM working on the synthesis of photocrosslinkable precursors for multicomponent inks for 3D printing.
