Biography
After obtaining a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemistry, Guillaume joined, in Versailles, the
UVSQ Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Faculty of Science), where he pursued his studies up to the first year of a Master’s degree in Chemistry. For his second year of the Master’s program, he chose
Université Paris-Saclay to study Pharmaceutical Chemistry. In late January 2026, he joined the
IBMM Green Chem team at
IBMM Balard for a six-month internship focused on the mechanochemical synthesis of molecules of pharmaceutical interest. The therapeutic target of this work is the 5-HT6 receptor, whose biological processes are involved in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). In order to gain further insight into the receptor’s mechanism within the brain, he works on the synthesis of new ligands while following a greener and more environmentally friendly synthetic approach thanks to mechanochemistry ⚙️ 🛠️, under the supervision of
Xavier Bantreil and
Frédéric Lamaty.
