Biography
Jean-Pierre Uttaro obtained his PhD at Paul Cézanne University (Marseille, France) in 2004 under the supervision of Prof. H. Monti and Dr. G. Audran, working on the total synthesis of sesquiterpenes and taxane precursors. After a postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. J. Stephen Clark (University of Nottingham, UK) and a position as ATER at Claude Bernard University Lyon1 with Prof. R. Lamartine, he was appointed Lecturer at the University of Montpellier in 2006, where he joined the Department of Nucleic Acids. Since 2025, he has joined the Glyco & Nanovectors team for Therapeutic Screening, led by Dr. M. Gary-Bobo and Prof. A. Morère. His main research interests involve the design, synthesis, and study of new therapeutic agents and the exploration of new synthetic methodologies.
