Philip Waelès was born in Céret (France) in 1987. He obtained his B.Sc. at the university of Perpignan Via Domitia in 2010 and his M.Sc. in organic chemistry at the university of Montpellier (France) in 2012. He received his Ph.D. in 2016, from the same institution, by working on the synthesis of molecular muscles and lassos, under the supervision of Prof. Frédéric Coutrot. He is currently a CNRS Engineer in the Supramolecular Machines and ARchitectures Team of the Institut des Biomolécules Max Mousseron.
