Biography
Jean-Yves Winum received his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Montpellier (France) in 1998 under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Louis Montero. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Prof. Stefan Matile Group at the chemistry department of Georgetown University (Washington DC, USA) and at the University of Geneva (Switzerland). In 1999, he joined the University of Montpellier, where he is now Full Professor at the Institute of Biomolecules Max Mousseron (ChemBioNAC team). His research interests are focused on organic/medicinal chemistry of metalloenzyme inhibitors and their applications as anti-cancer or anti-infective agents. The results of his studies have been published in more than 190 articles, 1 book, and 12 book chapters. He is an associate editor of Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry and a member of the editorial board of Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Patents, and Anti-Cancer Agents in Medicinal Chemistry.
