All the chemistry research laboratories of Montpellier have taken up the challenge to merge the teams conducting researches in the field of Biomolecules so as to provide a single laboratory named “Institut des Biomolécules Max Mousseron” (IBMM).. The 1st January 2007 saw the creation of the IBMM, UMR 5247, affiliated to the CNRS, to the Montpellier 1 University to the Montpellier 2 University. The steadfastly international strategy of the IBMM, rests on research and innovation programmes on federative themes around synthesis, chemical reactivity and the study of the physicochemical, biological, pharmacological and toxicological properties of biomolecules. Our Institute fulfils today two main missions: teaching and research at the Chemistry – Biology – Clinic junction and two complementary missions: valorisation and transfer of technologies via in particular young seeds that it helps emerge and grow within its laboratories.

Thanks to our web site which we wish to turn into a true exchange and communication space, we want to provide as much information as possible on the various research teams forming the IBMM, the developed thematics, the existing know-how and skills, as well as the different tuition courses offered. One of our major concerns is to offer quality teachings, but quite flexible courses, adapted to the new trades and to the professional project of each student; our concern is to set up a cursus compatible with the European standard, for promoting exchanges with the other European universities still further and strengthening our international and multicultural character.

The administrative and educational team will be glad to answer your questions in order to meet your various expectations.

So welcome to you all and happy discovery of the IBMM!
