Biography

After obtaining his General Baccalaureate in 2021, Ugo pursued a Bachelor of Technology in Chemistry, specializing in synthesis. During this program, he completed a ten-week internship at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, in Scotland, where he designed cholinesterase inhibitors co-conjugated with polymers.
Following his second year, Ugo joined CPE Lyon to continue specializing in organic chemistry. He is currently taking a gap year between his fourth and fifth years of engineering studies.
As part of this year, he first completed a six-month internship starting in September 2025 at the Julius Maximilians Universität of Würzburg, in Germany. This internship was part of a collaborative project between Professor Andreas Brunschweiger and Professor Joanna Wencel-Delord, where he developed new synthetic methodologies using hypervalent bromine within the framework of a DNA-Encoded Library (DEL).
In March 2026, Ugo joined the Green Chemistry and Innovative Technologies team at IBMM as an intern within the PHOTOMILL project. Under the supervision of Xavier Bantreil and Frédéric Lamaty, he is currently working on combining mechanochemistry and photochemistry to develop innovative and sustainable synthetic approaches.
