Biography

After completing a Master’s Degree in Engineering (CMI) in organic and medicinal chemistry at Université d’Orléans, Lylia Azzoug carried out her PhD at the Centre of Molecular Biophysics under the direction of Dr. Vincent Aucagne and the co-supervision of Dr. Carlo Pifferi. At the interface of chemistry and biology, her PhD project focused on the development of new methodologies for protein chemo-engineering and the identification of ligands in mirror-image configuration. After defending her PhD in February 2026, Lylia joined the IBMM for her first postdoctoral experience within team F9, working with Dr. Baptiste Legrand and Dr. Pascal Verdié on the synthesis and production of venom-inspired disulfide-rich toxins for applications such as biopesticides.
