Biography

Arnaud Carrier obtained his PhD from the University of Toulouse in the CNRS/Pierre Fabre ETaC (Epigenetic Targeting of Cancer) team, where he studied the role of DNA methylation in the aggressiveness of cutaneous melanoma. He then completed a first postdoctoral contract at the Pasteur Institute of Lille/EGID (European Genomic Institute for Diabetes), based on the concept of the developmental origins of health and disease (DOHaD), by analysing DNA methylation in hematopoietic stem cells from human cord blood and the transcriptome at the single-cell level (single-cell RNA sequencing, 10x Genomics technology). He subsequently continued his work at the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute in Barcelona, studying the response of leukaemia cell lines to molecules targeting different epigenetic mechanisms (epigenetic drugs), and at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of Montpellier (IGMM) on the regulation of nucleic acid immunity in metabolic cells. Since September 2025, he has been a Temporary Teaching and Research Assistant (ATER) at the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier, where he teaches biochemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology. Within IBMM, he is affiliated with the Cellular Pharmacology team and works on the cellular characterization of ghrelin receptor (GHSR) signalling.
