Biography
Léo Faïon (Assistant professor ) studied pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Caen Normandy and was awarded his PhD in therapeutic chemistry at the University of Lille in 2020. He undertook an initial postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Pasteur Institute in Lille between 2020 and 2022, followed by a second fellowship at Newcastle University (United Kingdom) from 2022 to 2024. Following a year as an Assistant Lecturer in 2024 at the University of Montpellier, where he joined the IBMM within the SLB research team, he was appointed Senior Lecturer in Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences in Montpellier in 2025. His research focuses on the development of lipoconjugates for therapeutic applications. In particular, he works on the synthesis and study of lipophenols, alkalo-lipids and terpene-lipids in order to investigate their antioxidant, anti-infective and muscle-hypertrophic effects, respectively.
