Biography
Isabelle Parrot obtained her PharmD and PhD degrees at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Strasbourg (France), under the supervision of Pr. C-G. Wermuth (1998-2001), for work on the pallado-synthesis and chlolinergic activities of various pyridazines, and the development of new fluorescent ligands. In 2001, she joined Prof. C. Khosla’s group at Stanford University as a post-doctoral fellow before joining IBMM as an assistant Professor in organic chemistry at the University of Montpellier and being appointed Professor in 2022. Her research work was initially focused on the development of peptidomimetics, with an interest in targeting protein-protein interactions in which PPII helices are strongly involved. In order to connect her research activity with her skills and know-how in the field of fragrances, flavors and cosmetics, and also with her entrepreneurial activities (co-founder and scientific advisor for the ODORE SCOLA company), her initial research areas were recently redefined to focus on eco-friendly extracting for the production of sustainable natural ingredients.
