Biography
Dr. Xavier J. Salom-Roig studied chemistry at the Universities of València (Spain) and Strasbourg (France). He obtained a Ph.D. degree from University of Strasbourg in 1999 under the supervision of Prof. Guy Solladié by working on the enantioselective total synthesis of Pamamycin-607 using a sulfoxide as chiral auxiliary. In 2000, he joined the group of Prof. Jean-Pierre Sauvage at the University of Strasbourg, where he worked in the field of photoinduced charge separation. In November 2001, he joined Prof. P. Renaud’s team and worked on the synthesis of frondosin C. He currently works as Associated Professor at University of Montpellier (France) and his research interests include the development of new asymmetric reactions mediated by a chiral sulfoxide and the total synthesis of natural products.
