Gilles Subra, winner of the 2025 Innovation Award!
Gilles Subra has received the 2025 Innovation Award – Chemistry Cluster for the industrial chair Sicle.e, an innovative project focused on leather tanning using silicic acid — a more environmentally friendly approach.
🧪 This groundbreaking innovation is the result of an ambitious collaborative effort involving:
-
the CTC Group (Leather Technical Centre)
-
the Max Mousseron Institute of Biomolecules (IBMM)
-
the Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier (ICGM)
-
the CIRAD BioWooEB Laboratory – Biomass, Wood, Energy, and Bioproducts
🎯 Their shared goal: to promote a more sustainable leather industry by leveraging silicon-based resources to develop eco-friendly technologies and to valorize leather waste, particularly for agricultural applications.
