Pierre Charnet’s team highlighted in the CNRS Journal.
The F17 team, led by Pierre Charnet, has been highlighted in the CNRS Journal for its work on the bee “channelome.” The article explains how his team characterized most of the genes encoding ion channels in bees. These channels are the targets of the main neurotoxic insecticides used in agriculture. The team studies the effects of low-dose exposure to these insecticides on these proteins, which are essential for nerve transmission, and seeks new pathways and molecules to develop more specific products that protect beneficial insects.
This work was carried out in collaboration with Alain Chavanieu and Baptiste Legrand (Amino acids, heterocycles, peptides & proteins team) and Sébastien Dutertre (Analytical sciences of biomolecules team).
