Biography

Prof. Béatrice Roy obtained a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Grenoble (France) in 1993 where she worked under the supervision of Prof. M. Fontecave on the design of inhibitors of ribonucleotide reductase. She pursued postdoctoral studies first at the University of Grenoble, and then at the University Paris Sud (Orsay, France). In 1997, she held a position of Assistant Professor in Pr. G. Lemaire’s group at the UPS. In 2002, she moved to Montpellier and joined the NuEP team. She was appointed as Associate Professor (2007), then Full Professor (2021) by the University of Montpellier. She was a visiting faculty member in 2011/12 at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. Her main research interests focus on the development of alternative synthetic methodologies to access P-compounds (such as nucleotides) with a focus on eco-compatibility.
