Breast Cancer: Jean-Marie Ramirez Presents an Innovative Implant to Prevent Metastasis

How can cancer cells be prevented from leaving the primary tumour to form metastases? This is the challenge tackled by Jean-Marie Ramirez, Associate Professor in the Photobiology and Oncopharmacology team at IBMM.

In an interview with ON HEALTH, he presents an innovative implant designed to capture circulating tumour cells before they can colonize other organs. Combining biomaterials and biomedical engineering, this original approach could open up new perspectives for preventing the metastatic spread of breast cancer.
