HyriaMed: a new start-up stemming from research by the PHBM team
Founded in July 2026, the start-up HyriaMed emerged from research carried out within the Polymers for Health and Biomaterials (PHBM) team at the Institut des Biomolécules Max Mousseron (IBMM).
HyriaMed is developing PEASY, an innovative medical device for urine collection without skin adhesives, designed to improve the comfort and autonomy of men with urinary incontinence. The project is the result of several years of research and development in polymer chemistry, materials processing and medical device design.
Xavier Garric, Coline Pinese, Benjamin Nottelet and Sarah Di Prospero, members of the PHBM team, contributed to the creation of HyriaMed and to the development of this innovation stemming from academic research. Supported by SATT AxLR throughout its maturation and technology transfer process, the project has now reached a new milestone with the creation of the company and the signing of a licensing agreement enabling the further development of PEASY.
Now hosted at IBMM, HyriaMed maintains close ties with the scientific environment in which the project originated.
The creation of HyriaMed illustrates IBMM’s commitment to technology transfer and the valorisation of innovations developed within the institute, with the ambition of turning research findings into practical solutions that benefit patients.
