Biography

After training as a chemical engineer (1996) at the Institut de Chimie et Physique Industrielle de Lyon (CPE Lyon), Catherine Perrin specialized in analytical sciences, completing a DEA in analytical chemistry at the University of Paris 6 (1998). She then completed a doctoral thesis (Sept. 1998 - Jan. 2002) in pharmaceutical analytical sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Dutch-speaking university) under the supervision of Pr DL Massart, focusing on the development of analytical strategies for the enantiomeric analysis of substances of pharmaceutical interest using chemometric approaches.
In 2002, she was recruited as associate professor in Pharmaceutical Analytical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical and Biological Sciences, University of Montpellier. In 2012, she was appointed Professeur des Universités.
Her research activities (Orcid 0000-0001-6946-7571) focus on 2 main areas: 1/ the development of innovative electrophoretic methodologies integrating sample preparation (enzymatic µ-reactors) / separation & detection for the characterization and quality control of proteins/peptides of pharmaceutical interest 2/ the development of electrophoretic methodologies for the Personalized Therapeutic Monitoring of patients. The coupling of electrophoretic methodologies with mass spectrometry, set up with several of the team's teacher-researchers, is also at the heart of these themes.
