Biography

Ymane Gilbert holds a Master's degree in Archaeology, Sciences for Archaeology, specializing in Prehistory, Geoarchaeology, and Archaeozoology from the University of Bordeaux.

During her master's degree, she completed an internship focusing on the impact of osteological preparation protocols on the preservation of bone collagen and dental tissue. This work enabled her to develop multidisciplinary approaches at the interface between archaeology and chemistry.

Continuing in this vein, Ymane joined the Biomolecular Analytical Sciences team in 2025 to begin a thesis entitled “Chiral analysis in mass spectrometry for archaeology.” This thesis aims to develop innovative analytical methods for the study of ancient biomolecules. It is part of an interdisciplinary project conducted jointly with a doctoral student from the Institute of Evolutionary Sciences in Montpellier (ISEM).
